The role of Hydration and Sanitation Engineer involves:

Collecting litter from rooms and hallways
Ensuring washrooms garbage bins are presentable
Stocking water for speakers
Tidying and filling coffee station

The role of Room Host involves:

Directing speaker to set up
Ensuring session starts on time
Notifying speaker to wrap up
Ensuring Session ends and room is cleared on time

Podcamp Toronto is looking for Sales Desk Attendants to help us rock our 10th year!

This role requires responsible, outgoing volunteers. Podcamp relies solely on donations and merchandise sales to make this event free each year.

The role of Sales Desk Attendant involves:

Greeting and up selling each attendee upon approach
Maintaining an accurate cash float and purchase record
Reminding attendees of available merchandise and donation options
Barking and product inventory countdown

Podcamp Toronto is looking for Reception Desk Attendants to help us rock our 10th year!

This role requires friendly, outgoing volunteers. Podcamp relies on a welcoming atmosphere for the digital community meet and connect with new people.

The role of Reception Desk Attendant involves:

Greeting each attendee upon entering
Ensuring they are registered and checked in
Reminding attendees of available merchandise and the Podcamp after party
Directing to name tags, coat racks and wifi info

Podcamp Toronto is looking for a Sponsorship Lead to help us rock our 10th year of bringing the Free and Open Digital Media Unconference to Toronto’s digital community.

This volunteer role requires cold-calling and emailing potential sponsors with a strong fit to be a part of the Podcamp community. Podcamp relies primarily on sponsorship contributions to make the event a kick-ass opportunity for the digital community meet, share insight and knowledge, and connect with new people.

The role of Sponsorship Lead involves:

Reaching out to existing contacts, or cold-calling/emailing new contacts that are a good fit to be part of the Podcamp Toronto community as sponsors.
Clearly explaining the benefits of being a Podcamp Toronto sponsor, as outlined in the sponsorship package, and the philosophy of a Free and Open learning environment for all members of the community.
Working with the Financial Officer to ensure organizations that have agreed to be sponsors are invoiced in a reasonable amount of time, and all details of the sponsorship agreement are documented, so that Podcamp Toronto can fulfil its responsibilities to sponsors, as outlined in the sponsorship package.

Must haves:

You get what Podcamp is about – its philosophy; and the joy and excitement of learning alongside others in a Free^* and Open environment.
An inexplicable willingness to work 5-10 hours per month between now and January for the sheer enjoyment of it, because this is a volunteer role. February is busier, as we approach the event.
You are able to join the organizing committee and be all-hands-on-deck to make Podcamp Toronto happen on the weekend of February 20-21.
Ideally you have oodles of industry connections in the digital community – through your clients, agencies, service providers and others.
You must be comfortable asking corporations for sums of money between $500 and $10,000 dollars.
You are organized and able to communicate clearly with the team and keep us apprised of new developments, changes to situations.
The ability to handle rejection with a smile when contacts decline would be a great asset.

^* Free, as in liberty, not necessarily zero cost -although we work hard to offer Podcamp Toronto at zero cost to attendees, or using a pay-what-you-like model.
